Why start a blog?
The first thing I always wonder when reading a new blog is why? So, here is why I thought to add one more thing to do in my crazy life. My son has food allergies. It sucks. I hate it. He hates it. We all hate it. Once we learned of his allergies, I started looking at everything. I saw something once that said "an allergy mom does better research than the FBI" and let me tell you...there is a lot of truth to that! In my year of research, I've learned the brands he can have, the foods he can have at certain restaurants, and cooking substitutes for all sorts of things. At times I get SO excited about something I've tried or found and have no one to tell! So, now I do! I'll tell the internet.
My goal for this blog is information. Information for myself to be able to reference, information for other allergy moms out there just looking for an solution. Also, it is a release for me. A way to get all of these thoughts, annoyances, struggles, out of my head. I often think my friends are tired of hearing of my latest recipe or discovery that sausage might just contain milk. However, they listen and deal with it and I am thankful.
I have several blog posts already in mind, Jace's second birthday, several recipes I've adapted, just to name a couple. I'm not a writer by any means. I'm just a mom who has a lot of questions. I love to cook. I love to plan meals. I love to try new things. This just goes right along with all of those loves. So here goes nothing!
